Despite the issues with Chad, Abigail and Ben grew closer and eventually got engaged.
They moved in together, and Ben was happy when he found that Abby was pregnant.
However, things quickly changed when Ben began to exhibit even more angry and aggressive behavior.
Later, Eve Donovan’s daughter Paige Larson was also strangled to death.
Abby quickly figured out that Ben was mentally unstable while they were at the cabin.
The stress sent her into labor and Ben quickly retrieved a midwife named Wendy to deliver the baby.
Ben then lit the bed on fire and ran off with the baby, whom he had named Colin.
Chad and Abigail eventually escaped the fire and the police caught up with Ben.
He was taken to Bayview Sanitarium after suffering his mental breakdown, perSoaps.
However, that wasn’t the last of Ben.
He was eventually released on the recommendation of Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and returned to Salem.
The two eventually tied the knot and welcomed a child together.
Meanwhile, Chad and Abigail also got married and welcomed a second child, a daughter named Charlotte.
