Jennifer Lopez has spent a majority of her professional life and private life in the spotlight.
“I don’t have hours,” the triple threat toldVariety.
“Maybe 30 years ago, it was very, ‘Oh, you’re the Latin girl.

But you have to prove yourself too.”
And prove herself, she has.
This is the stunning transformation of Jennifer Lopez.

“I used to sweep the hair at a beauty salon and clean the sinks,” she toldVariety.
“I just wanted my $10, to go do whatever I wanted with.
And it was such a great feeling.”

Though her upbringing was nothing extravagant, Lopez felt born to perform.
I want to do all three."
Because of her background, she had extra steps to take to ensure herself a place in the spotlight.

“I had to work extra hard,” Lopez toldPeople.
“I wasn’t in show business.
I didn’t live in L.A.

I didn’t have any connections.
I was just a dancer from New York, and I was trying to make it.”
“I became a singer and actress after dancing.

For me, it’s so part of who I am.”
However, it wasn’t easy receiving her big break on the show.
Before her second audition the following year secured her the job, the young entertainer struggled.

For this hustler, Lopez knew that her goal wasn’t far out of reach.
“I don’t say that lightly.”
The performance also led to her firstGolden Globe nomination.

“I always wanted to make a record,” she toldCBS Sunday Morning.
Luckily, even though her acting career was exploding, the young entertainer didn’t listen.
“For me, it was always all one thing,” Lopez explained toPeople.

“It was never, like, two separate things.
It was, ‘I’m going to be an actress, singer, dancer.'”
“It was definitely a different experience promoting the album than promoting a film,” Lopez toldVH1.

“A film is a much more collaborative effort, but the music is just you.
It’s you there on your own.”
When Jennifer Lopez was picking out an outfit for the 2000 Grammys, that’s exactly how she felt.

“But it was like, nothing really special.”
That is, until she pulled out that green Versace dress.
“I didn’t think it was all that risque, to be honest,” she added.

“I was more excited that it was the Grammys.
I wasn’t really even thinking about the dress that much.”
“So they created Google Images Search.”

Since then, it’s simply been deemed “The Dress.”

“Why is she a mogul?

She understands the power in the pivot,” Goldsmith-Thomas toldVariety.
“We have one life.
She would say, ‘What’s stopping you?

The only thing stopping you is you.'”
“I really felt like when I met Ben, I was like, ‘Okay, this is it.
I found him,'” Lopez toldPeople.

Having two huge Hollywood names, they quickly became the “it couple.”
She added, “We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids.”
Sadly, after a two-year engagement,Lopez and Affleck decided to break it off.
Looking back, she said, “It was just a lot of pressure.”
That little grain of rice?

So, in 2011, the couplefiled for divorceafter seven years of marriage.
“The relationship journey has been very up and down … “There’s an evolution there that had to happen for me.
I feel like I’m in a better place now.”
In 2011, she signed on to be a judge for “American Idol.”
“It was a big turning point in my career,” Lopez toldVariety.
“Everybody was like, ‘Don’t do this.
Your career will be over, and they won’t offer you any movies.
They’ll think you’re a joke as an artist.’
“you’re able to’t hide on reality TV,” she explained toVariety.

The hype surrounding Hustlers
For Jennifer Lopez, 2019 was quite the year.
But surprisingly, Lopez admitted that she almost passed on the role.
“I had worked so much,” she explained toVariety.
“I was like, ‘I have to stay home with my kids and Alex.'”
It was certainly a performance that tops Lopez’s list of favorites, too.
“The Super Bowl, inauguration …
I was like, ‘What am I doing here?'”
Lopez joked onThe Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Those are definitely moments that mark your career.”
She experienced heartbreak again
By spring 2021, Jennifer Lopez seemed to have it all.
However, heartbreak was something the iconic singer was privately going through behind the scenes.
Aside from that information, Lopez was adamant about not making her breakup a public affair.
She had fallen, once again, for her first love: actor Ben Affleck.
As Lopezshared with fans, Affleck had popped the question while she was enjoying a relaxing bubble bath.
This simple moment made it even more special for someone who always finds herself in the spotlight.
“I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez gushed toPeople.
“It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
