So when Ridge found out, the two conspired to keep the baby’s paternity a secret from him.
Eventually, Ridge and Caroline divorced and she hooked up with Thomas again.
Bill told Thomas about Caroline’s grim fate, and Caroline reluctantly went along with the ruse.
Thomas fell for it and went back to New York with her.
But, when Thomas learned that Caroline wasn’t actually ill, he was furious and dumped her.
Caroline then returned to LA when Bill got shot in the back.
Thomas eventually decided to go back to New York with Caroline for Douglas’s sake.
In a surprising stroke of unity, all the families got together and mourned her death.
